This Saturday 14th June was one of the longest days of the year for Europe/England The longest day usually falls on 21st of June. This means hours and hours of daylight going past 22h00 in the evening , these days my "going to bed and reading time"....I'm like an old man.
It was also the longest day I've ever spend on a bike. I left home at 08h30 and returned at 17h30. 9hours of which 7 of them was spend on the bike. I went out with Nirvana Cycles and eventually ended up on my own. I rode for approx 130km and climbed about 1700m, not much for that amount of time although 2hours was spent commuting back and forth to Dorking and the ride with Nirvana did not involve that much climbing. It was another beautiful day in Dorking, Surrey. The roads were dry. the singletrack sweet and it was not a struggle staying in the woods for the whole day.
I felt ok afterwards, noticeably my backside hurt like a mother. I only got up at 10h00 the next day but I think that has more to do with the Beyerskloof Pinotage I had as a nightcap than the tiredness. I felt fine on Sunday, didn't go out for a ride but that is because believe it or not I had some housework to do, mow the lawn, clean the garden etc. Something i only do once a year.

I am getting anxious getting back to SA now, Ive already packed my bike and I'm commuting in with the Specialized this week.
All the best, keep checking in.
